Rotary in Action

Past President  Eric Russell proposed to the club that we assist 90 year old Vin Murn to clean up his yard.  Until recently Vin was an avid gardener growing fruit trees, all his own vegetables and was able to maintain his yard and gardens, however in recent times Vin’s age had restricted his ability to work in his garden.  As a consequence the yard and trees became over grown.

The project took up four Sunday mornings in addition to weed spraying one week before the first work day.  In all three, 6x4 high sided trailer loads of green matter were removed and a 3.5 x 4.2m section of the back yard paved to allow access to the clothes line.

The following before and after photographs show the extent and scope of the project.  Vin made a donation and extended his appreciation to the Club and to the members who participated.
